CECC confirms 69 more COVID-19 cases, including 6 domestic case and 63 imported cases Facebookshare to Facebook(open in new window)Lineshare to Line(open in new window)Printprint(open in new window) Back

On February 26, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 69 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 69 new cases, six are domestic and 63 are imported (40 of them tested positive after landing). The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are five men and one woman, aged between under 10 and 49 years.

Regarding the 63 new imported cases, they are 32 men and 31 women, aged between under five and 69 years. Of the cases, seven arrived in Taiwan from the Philippines, six from Vietnam, five from the US, four from Indonesia, three from Australia, two each from Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, and Korea, and one each from Malaysia, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Japan, Russia, and Paraguay; the areas the remaining 22 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between February 11 and February 25, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 6,277,837 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 6,257,088. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 20,373 cases. Of the 20,373 confirmed cases, 4,909 are imported; 15,410 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases’ sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 134 cases have been removed as confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 853 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 853 deaths, 839 are from domestic cases and the other 14 are from imported cases.
